Utility Monitoring
Systems

ZI-ARGUS has engineered a successful tool known as the Utility Monitoring System (UMS) to assist in achieving energy reduction targets. The system automatically collects relevant information from the various utilities and processes in the factory. This information consists of both usage data, measured by instruments in all sections of the plant network, and status information like running hours, levels in tanks, overload signals, etc.

This information is presented centrally to the user in a graphical format. Furthermore, the UMS incorporates functions for the storage and retrieval of historical trending information for essential process parameters.

Expenditure information of process resources is stored in a relational database. Based on this data the UMS will generate reports that can be used for analysis of process efficiency and optimization.

Designing, procuring and installing complex monitoring systems is a highly specialized skill. ZI-ARGUS provides quality knowledge and technical expertise in the design and installation of complete solutions for utility monitoring. From initial audit of your systems to an analysis of projected savings, we work with you to create a system that precisely fits your plant, your needs and your budget.

At ZI-ARGUS, we are focused on delivering complete technology solutions that help provide a demonstrable and sustainable return-on-investment. We have designed and implemented several energy saving systems that are actually assisting in reducing overall energy consumption by 10 to 15 percent. These systems often give an ROI result in less than one year.

Objectives

  • Provide a centralized graphical overview of the site-wide utilities
  • Accurate and real-time measurement of the usage information throughout the site network
  • Long-term storage data in a relational database, including corporate reporting

Benefits

  • Reduction of production costs, due to centralized monitoring with automatic pre-warning systems
  • Detailed insight usage of utility resources resulting in cost savings
  • Cost allocations per production unit is possible
  • Real-time availability of utility consumption available on the corporate network
